This Foundation is an non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for the people of Senegal from health care and disease prevention, to art, music and sport projects.

Akon Repairs Damaged Elementary School in Dakar, Senegal. "Believe In the Future of Africa!"
Over One Thousand text books were handed out to young students after their school was rebuilt by the wonderful people assisting Akon in Dakar, Senegal West Africa. Pictured to the left is Aliaune "Akon" Thiam, who is Chairman/Founder of Konfidence Foundation, helping to distribute some of the children's school supplies to the elementary schools' teachers after the construction had been completed. "Right now we are specifically focused on the Konfidence Foundation. For those who don't know what it is, Konfidence is an organization focused on raising the awareness and the confidence of our youth in Africa so that they can create a better future for the continent. What we're doing is we're having annual concerts to raise money to help rebuild schools, hospitals and to help rebuild Africa in general. I'm involving comedians, entertainers, actors and athletes to help get the job done. Africa is ten years behind on technology! The reconstruction of Ecole Elementaire P.A.Y. Unite 3 (an Elementary school in Dakar) is just one of many projects spearheaded by Akon. We are proud to serve our international communities and we will work hard to continue our efforts to grow and nurture the confidence of tomorrows leaders today...
Akon performs at Live Earth Concert on 7/7/07 Giant Stadium New York/NJ
Saturday, July 7, was a day filled with nonstop excitement as eager concert goers (camera phones in hand) got up close and personal with some of their favorite musicians including Akon. Other performers included Ludacris, Fall Out Boy, Bon Jovi, Kanye West, Rihanna, Kelly Clarkson, Dave Meyers Band, Smashing Pumpkins, The Police, Melissa Etheridge, Sheryl Crow, and AFI all joining in to help raise awareness of the solutions to the global warming crisis.
